Former Osbourn High football coach Troy Jones is now the new principal for Osborne High School. The Cobb County school board voted unanimously Thursday to appoint Jones, who is currently the assistant principal for the ninth grade at Kell High.
Jones served as the football coach at Osborne from 2005-09, then again from 2015-2016. With his appointment, Jones replaces longtime principal Joshua Morreale who was appointed last month as the district’s first assistant superintendent for school safety.
Jones has 21 years of experience in education, the district said, and his first teaching job was at Osborne.
Jones has been at Kell since 2019. Before that, he worked as an assistant principal and athletic director at Wheeler High. He also taught in Atlanta Public Schools earlier in his career.
