MUST Ministries seeking community support to feed area children this summer
Share

In preparation to feed over 6300 school children this summer, Must Ministries is asking the public for help as it prepares to provide meals once they are out for summer break.
The free and reduced meals received during the school year are the only meals available for many children living in poverty. Once they are out of school, access to these meals disappear. MUST Ministries has been filling the hunger gap during this period for over 29 years through its Summer Lunch Program.
Said MUST Ministries President and CEO Dr. Ike Reighard, “Few things are as gripping as thousands of hungry children right here in our area. We must help. The children are counting on us. As a community, we can’t let them go hungry.”
In 2022, the program provided more than 6,370 children with 544,450 meals in just nine weeks. The goal is to serve just as many children this year, if not more. The program feeds children in eight counties: Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Douglas, Fulton (North and South), Gwinnett, Paulding and Pickens.
