Marietta woman accused of stabbing a man in chest

A Marietta woman, Debbie Yvette Pennamon, is accused of stabbing a man in the chest with a kitchen knife. Pennamon, 49, faces accusations of stabbing the man during an altercation on February 5 between 8:30 and 9 p.m. The incident occurred at 494 Haley Street SE in Marietta.

According to the Marietta Police Department’s arrest warrant, Pennamon allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest, penetrating 1-2 inches into his abdominal cavity, and with enough force to break the blade inside his body. Following the incident, Pennamon fled the scene.

Law enforcement located Pennamon  at the Motel 6 on Delk Road in Marietta, where she reportedly confessed to the stabbing.  She was arrested and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. 

Pennamon has been charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and remains in custody without bond.
