Marietta man accused of selling drugs to undercover narcotics agent

A Marietta man, Dwain Thomas Howard, is facing serious charges related to drug possession and sale. According to an arrest warrant issued by the Austell Police Department, Howard allegedly sold heroin to an undercover narcotics agent on two occasions. The first sale involved one gram of heroin for $120, while the second sale consisted of two grams of heroin for $260. These transactions are said to have taken place at the intersection of Canton and Jamerson roads in Marietta, involving a Marietta/Cobb/Smyrna Narcotics & Intelligence Unit agent.
In addition to the drug sales, Howard was found in possession of various illicit substances in his hotel room. The substances found include approximately 3.5 grams of fentanyl, one gram of heroin stored within a folded piece of paper inside the bathroom’s toilet, and about 1.2 grams of amphetamine in the hotel room. Howard is facing multiple counts including two counts of sale of drugs, possession of drugs, possession of heroin, and possession of amphetamines.
Howard was taken into custody on July 26 and subsequently booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. He remains in custody without the option for bond.
