Man Sentenced to life in prison for South Cobb double murder

Share

A 29-year-old man, Lester Piercefield, has been found guilty of a double murder that occurred in July 2022 at a South Cobb apartment complex. Cobb District Attorney Flynn Broady Jr. announced that Piercefield has been sentenced to consecutive life sentences and an additional 25 years in prison for fatally shooting Jeremy Davis of Carrollton and Lena Wolfe of Austell, and critically injuring Yolanda Speller of Austell at 400 Westwood Place in Mableton.

The jury found Piercefield guilty of two counts of murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Superior Court Judge Robert Leonard handed down the sentence.

Cobb police responded to the Premier Apartments off Riverside Parkway after Speller called 911 on July 11, 2022. Davis and Wolfe were found dead from multiple gunshot wounds, and Speller was critically injured with a gunshot wound to the face.

Speller described the suspect and the vehicle, leading detectives to identify Piercefield as the suspect. The investigation revealed that Piercefield, who was friends with the victims, had been with them prior to the incident. He returned unannounced and for unknown reasons, leading to the tragic events.

Piercefield used two guns, firing at least eight rounds during the crime. Crime scene processing and firearms analysis confirmed the details of the incident. Piercefield is also facing murder charges for another double homicide in South Carolina.

Cobb Senior Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Green expressed the heinous nature of the crime, stating, “It takes an especially evil and heartless man to slaughter two parents and attempt to kill a third. Davis was a father of two little boys. Wolfe was a mother of three young sons. It is sickening that these five boys are left only with memories of their mom and dad.”
