Man killed in South Cobb shooting, another injured

One man was left dead and another injured after a shooting in a neighborhood of South Cobb.
Cobb County Police officers were called around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Whispering Pines Road, between Veterans Memorial Highway and Old Powder Springs Road, and found three men.
Two of the men had gunshot wounds. One was 35-year-old Marquel Gammage of Austell, who did not survive after the two wounded men were rushed to a hospital. The other man’s injuries were not considered life-threatening per police.
Police declined to say if the third man at the scene was involved or if he was considered a suspect. No arrests were announced, and the incident remains under investigation.
