A Cobb grand jury indicted a Florida man, Gary Dewayne Bailey, on Thursday on charges of rape and child molestation for repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor beginning in July 2019.
According to his arrest warrant, Bailey, 42, of Apollo Beach, is accused of plying a 12-year-old with marijuana and alcohol before raping her four years ago in Powder Springs.
In interviews with investigators, the young victim told investigators that Bailey assaulted her multiple times.
The warrant says Cobb Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Bailey at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Sept. 22 in connection with the alleged rape.
Charged with rape, child molestation, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the indictment, Bailey is being held in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
