A Mableton woman, Tiffany Nicole Burley, faces serious charges for allegedly subjecting 31 domestic cats to starvation and cruelty.

Burley, 35, is accused of neglecting the animals in her home at 6566 Arbor Gate Drive in Mableton.

According to an arrest warrant, no one had seen Burley enter her home since June, but mail delivery continued until September 19.

The warrant further described the dire state of the residence, stating, “The residence was uninhabitable in its current state.”

Inside, the cats were found abandoned without access to food or water. The warrant went on to detail the horrifying condition in which these cats were discovered, stating, “The cats were in different states of decomposition when they were found. The average cat was less than two inches thick, and the remains of the other cats were skeletal remains only, appearing as though they had been consumed by the stronger cats.”

Per jail records, Burley has been charged with multiple offenses, including abandonment of a domesticated animal, cruelty to animals, and aggravated cruelty to animals.

She was taken into custody on October 6 and subsequently booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. Burley remains in custody without bond.
