Mableton runoff election set for April 18

Share

While two council districts have been decided, residents of the new city of Mableton will have to wait a few more weeks to determine which candidates will complete the new government administration.

Several races are headed to an April 18th runoff including the races for the first Mayor of Mableton and council members for Districts 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Ron Davis is the Councilman elect for District 1 after defeating Deborah Johnson. Lone candidate Debora Herndon is the District 6 council person who won by default after her opponent dropped out of the race. A known de-annexer candidate, Herndon pledged to de-annex her part of the community from Mableton, including de-annexing herself from office.

Here are the candidates that are advancing to the run-0ff based on information from the Cobb County Board of Elections:

Mableton Mayor

District 2 City Council

District 3 City Council

District 4 City Council

District 5 City Council

SPOTLIGHT South Cobb News is partnering with several community partners to bring the candidates to your community. An announcement will be shared this week on the schedule of events, so stay tuned.
