Liv Teverino’s family establishes scholarship in her name following her tragic death

The establishment of the “Live Like Liv Scholarship Fund” by the family of Marietta High School junior Liv Teverino is a beautiful way to honor her memory and contribute positively to the community.

Liv was a junior at Marietta High School and was killed last week in a car crash in the Burnt Hickory Road area, near Devonwood Trail. Liv crashed into a tree and her vehicle caught fire. Her tragic passing has left a lasting impact on those who knew her, and this scholarship fund serves as a meaningful tribute.

Former Marietta school board member Allison Gruehn, a friend of the Teverino family, expressed gratitude for the swift creation of the scholarship by the Marietta Schools Foundation. 

The specifics of the scholarship, including when it will be first awarded and the criteria for selection, are still being determined. Gruehn said, “We’re really appreciative and thankful that the Marietta Schools Foundation was literally able to put it together at a moment’s notice so that people could give in honor of Liv,” Gruehn said. 
Liv was remembered as a kind and inclusive individual who touched the lives of many. She was described as a sweetheart who was friendly and welcoming to everyone she met. Her positive impact extended to her academic achievements, athletic accomplishments, involvement in the community, and her role as an International Baccalaureate student.

Marietta Schools Superintendent Grant Rivera shared heartfelt remarks about Liv’s contributions and her family’s ties to the Marietta school district. He also highlighted Liv’s accomplishments and the indelible mark she left on her teachers and classmates.

The establishment of the scholarship fund is not only a way to commemorate Liv’s legacy but also a means to support and inspire future students.
