A Kennesaw man, Lorenz McNeill, has been indicted by a Cobb grand jury in connection with the fatal shooting of Tayshawn Omari Dean in August 2023. The incident occurred at unit 3214 of the Cobblestone Landing Apartments on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw.
McNeill, 22, faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, both felonies, as well as reckless conduct, a misdemeanor. According to the warrant for his arrest, McNeill allegedly aimed a semiautomatic handgun at Dean, 15, without properly checking if the gun was unloaded, subsequently pulling the trigger and shooting Dean in the back.
