Kemp’s name pushed as presidential candidate, alternative to Trump and others

The presidential election cycles offer voters the opportunity to assess and select candidates based on their qualifications, policies, and potential to lead the nation effectively. Many Republicans are getting loud about drafting “Brian Kemp for President”.
They are touting the Georgia governor as the alternative to former President Donald Trump as well as to other GOP contenders who have thrown their hats into the ring but are polling in single digits and have failed to gain traction leading to the 2024 election.
A successful presidential candidate needs to have a compelling vision for the entire country, beyond their individual state. Even though he has not made any official moves in that direction, many say Kemp hasn’t shut the door on a White House run either. Others say he is unlikely to run because he hasn’t built up the organizational structure or the fundraising apparatus to wage a labor-intensive national campaign.
Recently, former Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan was asked about Kemp’s prospects on CNN. He said the governor has put on display “what conservative leadership looks like — and he did it in a non hateful way.” Said Duncan, “He’s conservative but not angry. That, to me, is the model. If Brian Kemp wants to run for president, then I’ll certainly be there to help him.”
Another CNN commentator, Democrat Bakari Sellers, said if Kemp runs for president, he’s “actually talented enough to make inroads and do well in that field and do well in a conservative primary and strike a little fear in the hearts of Democrats.”
Instead of running for President, Kemp allies see Kemp challenging U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff in 2026.
The Iowa caucus is six months and we should know by then if Kemp remains Governor of Georgia or directs his attention to the Presidency of the United States.
