After three years on the air, R&B station Kiss 104.1 has opted not to renew the contract for longtime Atlanta morning host Frank Ski. In a memo to staff on Wednesday, the station announced that Ski had hosted his final show that day.
A popular veteran radio personality, Ski has been a prominent figure on Atlanta airwaves for most of the past 25 years. He was the No. 1 morning show host on V-103 from 1998 to 2012. After leaving V-103 in 2012, Ski attempted to syndicate his show and later worked at WHUR-FM in Washington, D.C., before returning to Atlanta to work at V-103. Ski joined Kiss in 2020.
Ski’s departure from Kiss follows his exit from V-103 in 2020 over contract differences. Even though he is off the Atlanta airwaves, fans can still catch Ski on a different station, 96.3 WHUR in Washington, D.C., where he hosts a syndicated afternoon show with Nina Brown in multiple markets.
The announcement of Ski’s departure came amidst other changes in leadership at Kiss, with program director Teri Avery retiring on December 31, 2023. No replacement has been named for Avery.
Ski took to TikTok with his own message on his departure. In a press release statement, saying he will be back on a different station as soon as he works out his non-compete. He also expressed excitement about starting a new chapter in Atlanta and expanding his syndication efforts. His agent, Gary Bernstein, hopes to secure a position for Ski on a different radio station after his noncompete period concludes.
Ski talked about his other projects including a book and music. He also announced that he and his wife are having a new baby. Ski is the parent of five sons and a daughter. In his closing remarks on social media, Ski encouraged others to move when God tells you to move, which is what he is doing.

Jaleigh Long, the market manager for CMG, which owns Kiss, expressed gratitude for Ski’s positive impact on listeners and communities since joining in 2021.
Station management has not announced an official replacement, but in the staff memo, they indicated that evening host Toni Moore and comedian George Wilborn will temporarily handle mornings from 6-10 a.m.
