The Issue
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles may display a blank or distorted image on the center screen while in reverse. This malfunction can limit a driver’s ability to see behind the vehicle, creating potential safety hazards.
Ford has reported 18 accidents linked to the issue, though no injuries have been confirmed.

The recall applies to model years 2015 through 2019 for the following Ford and Lincoln vehicles:
- Lincoln Navigator
- Lincoln MKC
- Mustang
- Ranger
- Transit
- Transit Connect
- Econoline
- Edge
- Expedition
- F-250 Super Duty
- F-350 Super Duty
- F-450 Super Duty
- F-550 Super Duty
What Owners Should Do
Ford and Lincoln owners will be notified by mail and instructed to bring their vehicles to a dealership. Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera, if necessary, at no cost to customers.
Ford’s Statement
Ford emphasized that customer safety remains a priority and that the company is working closely with NHTSA to ensure timely repairs.
