Victoria died on Wednesday after being found unresponsive in a pool beside a residence while on a field trip with her classmates at Carlton Farms in Rockmart. According to officials, a staff member noticed Victoria missing around noon before she was discovered in the pool. The exact residence has not been publicly identified.

On Sunday, Victoria’s family issued their first public statement since the incident, sharing photos of the young girl and an emotional message written by her extended family on behalf of her parents. They expressed deep confusion and heartbreak over the circumstances surrounding her death.

“The family is still in deep grief and struggling with unanswered questions. They have not been told how school staff lost track of her, how she got to the pool, or how long she was there. The pool was not part of the trip, and the family still does not know how it was accessible or whether it had been properly secured or supervised as an adult pool,” the statement read.

The family also criticized the lack of direct outreach from McGarity Elementary, noting that no school staff had personally contacted Victoria’s parents to offer condolences. “While the school community received a general letter, the parents themselves were never contacted or comforted directly, and that silence has added to their pain,” the statement said.

Victoria’s family expressed gratitude to the Rockmart Walmart community, which reached out personally to offer support and condolences during this difficult time.

“The family continues to hope that the truth will come out and that justice will be served for Victoria,” they wrote.

Drone footage of the farm shows a house with a pool on the property, though it remains unclear whether the incident occurred at that location. Google Maps shows at least one other property in the surrounding neighborhood with a pool, further complicating the investigation.
