Cobb County’s Board of Elections approved appointing an interim elections director, Gerry Miller, during its recent meeting.
Miller’s appointment comes weeks after former elections Director Janine Eveler retired in early April after a dozen years in the top elections position for Cobb. Miller is coming out of retirement to fill this role until Cobb County can undertake a national search for a new director
Miller served as assistant elections director under Everley and has decades of experience in elections gained from various supervisory and management roles. He served as the preparation center director for Cobb Elections for 11 years before he retired in 2021. .
Board of Elections Chair Tori Silas said in a news release, “We are grateful that Gerry has agreed to come out of retirement to help lead our elections team,” “We believe he will provide steady leadership while we work to expand our search for a new Elections Director.”
