City of Mableton election results

Share

After Tuesday’s election and with 15 of the 15 precincts reporting, the new city of Mableton has several races headed to an April 18th run-off. This includes the races for the first Mayor of Mableton and council members for Districts 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Candidates that received more than 50% of the vote avoided a run-off, while the top two vote getters in each of the other races will have the next few weeks to convince voters why they are the best candidate to advance. Here are the top vote getters:

In the Mayor’s Race, de-annexation candidate Aaron Carman will face Michael Owens;

District 2 candidates Monica Evette DeLancy and Dami Oladapo will face off;

District 3 candidates Keisha Jeffcoat and Yashica Marshall will face off;

District 4 – de-annexation candidate Patricia Auch and Cassandra Brown will face off; and

District 5 candidates Cheryl Davis and T.J. Ferguson will face off.

District 1 candidate Ron Davis won his race by defeating Deborah Johnson, while the lone candidate in the District 6 race, de-annexation candidate Debora Herndon, won by default after her opponent dropped out.

Counting of absentee ballots may change some numbers for the races.

Here are the race results and the two candidates that will advance to the run-off based on information from the Cobb County Board of Elections:

Absentee ballots may change some numbers, but here are the top vote-getters in each race:
