South Cobb News proudly endorses Yashica Marshall for Commissioner of District 4, which includes the South Cobb areas of Mableton, Austell, Powder Springs, and parts of Smyrna and Marietta.
“We are endorsing Yashica Marshall because she is the best and only candidate in this race to lead South Cobb out of the chaos, disturbances, and embarrassments we have endured under former Commissioner Sheffield.
As a practicing attorney, businesswoman, and dedicated community advocate, Yashica is the steady hand we need at this critical moment to guide us beyond the turbulence of the past four years. She has a clear vision for South Cobb—one that aligns with the desires of the community. Yashica is committed to responsible governance that prioritizes the needs of the people over political interests. She will be a leader for the people, not a follower of the agendas of other politicians.
Yashica will be an independent, thoughtful, and responsive Commissioner who listens to the concerns of the community, offering fresh ideas and new solutions to replace the stale rhetoric that has held us back. She will operate with transparency, protect our hard-earned taxpayer dollars, and ensure that county funds are spent wisely and efficiently, not recklessly. As a candidate, she has pledged to donate her first-year salary back to the citizens of South Cobb.
She will provide the leadership needed to move past the petty issues that have distracted us for far too long. With a calm demeanor and collaborative approach, Yashica will work well with the rest of the commission members, seeking solutions rather than creating conflict. She will provide the representation our South Cobb community deserves—one that is focused on progress, not division. Our community will achieve so much more if we are led by calm rather than chaos.”
