Georgia Deputy Charged with Stalking Ex, Fellow Deputy

COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. — A Coffee County deputy has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly stalking his ex-girlfriend, who is also a deputy, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Shantokeo Rolax, 41, worked as an investigator with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and was placed on leave while the GBI investigated reports of harassment and property damage involving him. Once authorities determined an arrest was warranted, Rolax was fired by the sheriff’s office.
The GBI reports that Rolax allegedly sent harassing text messages, conducted surveillance on his ex, trespassed on property, and attempted to obstruct the investigation.
He was booked into the Coffee County Jail on multiple charges, including:
- Criminal trespass
- Stalking
- Harassing communications
- False report of a crime
- Influencing witnesses
- Obstructing law enforcement officers
- Unlawful conduct during a 911 call
- False statements
- Violation of oath by a public officer
The case highlights serious concerns about officer conduct and accountability within local law enforcement, raising questions for residents about safety and oversight in the community.
