The 28th Annual Unsung Heroines Awards Gala Returns August 9, 2025

ATLANTA, GA The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter (NCBW-MAC), proudly announces the return of its 28th Annual Unsung Heroines Awards Gala, taking place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Atlanta Marriott Gateway Hotel.

With the theme “Honoring Ordinary Women Who Are Doing Extraordinary Things,” this celebrated gala pays tribute to women whose steadfast leadership, community service, and resilience have profoundly impacted Atlanta and beyond—often without widespread recognition. These honorees represent a diverse array of fields including education, health, politics, civic engagement, business, and the arts.

A Night of Elegance with Purpose

Attendees will enjoy a powerful evening of reflection and celebration featuring:

  • A formal plated dinner in an elegant setting
  • Inspirational tributes and award presentations
  • Community networking with civic leaders and changemakers
  • Live entertainment by the renowned 5 Men on a Stool
  • A fundraising focus supporting economic empowerment for women
  • Uplifting stories that illuminate the power of perseverance and purpose

Celebrating Unsung Heroines Since 1997

Founded by NCBW-MAC in 1997, the Unsung Heroines Awards Gala was created to shine a light on women who lead with integrity and purpose, without seeking the spotlight. Each honoree is nominated by peers and carefully selected by an independent review panel. This year’s gala also marks more than a decade of impactful partnership with Red Shield, a legacy of collaboration that continues to transform lives across Metro Atlanta.

Supporting Economic Empowerment

Proceeds from the gala benefit the Sisters Helping Sisters Economic Empowerment Program, a signature initiative of NCBW-MAC. In partnership with the Salvation Army – Red Shield Services, the program supports women and children transitioning from dependency to self-sufficiency through access to housing, education, workforce training, and community resources.
