South Cobb’s State Representative, Terry Cummings, Receives Key Committee Assignments for 2025-2026 Legislative Term

The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), has named State Representative Terry Cummings (D-Mableton) to several important committees for the 2025-2026 legislative term. Rep. Cummings will serve on the Banks and Banking, Public Safety and Homeland Security, and State Properties committees.
“I’m honored to have been selected to serve on these impactful committees during my second term in office,” said Rep. Cummings. “Each committee plays a vital role in ensuring that we have the best interests of Georgians at heart. I am eager to work alongside my colleagues on these committees to improve banking, public safety, and property policies across our great state.”
In addition to her committee assignments, Rep. Cummings will continue her leadership roles as House Whip for the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus and vice chair of the Cobb County House Delegation.
Rep. Cummings represents District 39, which includes various parts of South Cobb County including Mableton, Austell, Powder Springs and portions of Smyrna. First elected to the House of Representatives in 2022, she brings a strong commitment to her community and a wealth of experience in her legislative work.
