Metro Atlanta Organizations to host “Crucial Conversations with Clergy and Community”

ATLANTA, GA — The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter, in collaboration with the 100 Black Men of America, South Metro Atlanta Chapter, will host a vital community engagement event, “2025 Crucial Conversations with Clergy and Community.”

The program will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Ben Hill United Methodist Church, located at 2099 Fairburn Road SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30331.

As non-partisan advocacy organizations, these groups recognize the moral and civic imperative of empowering communities to embrace their responsibilities in strengthening democracy. This event will bring together clergy, community leaders, and advocates for a thoughtful, timely discussion about the historic and ongoing role of faith institutions in mobilizing collective voices for justice, equity, and civic participation.

Grounded in voter registration activation, community advocacy, and sustained civic engagement, “Crucial Conversations” aims to inspire participants to transform dialogue into meaningful, lasting action. Esteemed panelists include:

  • Rev. Dr. Jay Augustine, Senior Pastor, Big Bethel AME Church
  • Pastor Pervis Brown, Senior Pastor, Fortified City Church
  • GA State Senator Sonya Halpern
  • Former GA State Representative CaMia Jackson
  • Rev. Shari L. Rates, Associate Pastor, Ben Hill United Methodist Church
  • Judge Penny Brown Reynolds, Candidate for Georgia Secretary of State
  • Rev. Dr. Michael A. Smith, Senior Pastor, Antioch East Baptist Church
  • Rev. Dr. Damon P. Williams, Senior Pastor, Providence Missionary Baptist Church

This is a free event and the public is invited to attend. Members of the media are also invited to attend and partner with the organizations in elevating this important civic and community initiative.
