Why I’m Running for Mableton City Council
Share
By Cassandra Brown
I’m running because my neighbors deserve a city government that listens, acts, and puts everyday people first. As a 23-year Mableton resident, veteran, and longtime community advocate, I’ve heard your concerns at kitchen tables, school events, and neighborhood gatherings. Those conversations shape my purpose: to make city government work for residents first, protecting quality of life, expanding opportunities, and ensuring every voice matters.
Community Roots and Resident-First Motivation
My commitment begins with people, not policy. Experience has taught me that strong neighborhoods are built on safety, reliable city services, good schools, and accessible parks where families can gather. I’m running to translate those local priorities into practical, measurable results.Constituent-Driven Priorities
- Affordable, safe neighborhoods that reflect residents’ needs and priorities.
- More local jobs, restaurants, and amenities to make daily life easier and keep tax revenue in Mableton.
- Thoughtful planning that protects neighborhood character while allowing smart growth that benefits residents.
- Transparent budgeting and accountability, so taxpayers know how funds are used and why.
- Better coordination between city services, schools, businesses, and nonprofits to provide tangible support for families.Vision for Inclusive Economic Growth
Vision for Inclusive Economic Growth
Economic development should serve residents first. I will pursue policies that attract businesses and amenities our community wants and needs, create local jobs, and reinvest revenue into community priorities. Growth should reduce strain on families, improve services, and revive neglected areas, not displace people or compromise neighborhood character.
Responsive Leadership and Accountability
I will show up, listen, and follow through. That means regular neighborhood meetings, clear updates on projects, and measurable results residents can see. I will learn from other cities but adapt best practices to Mableton’s unique needs. I will hold myself and city government accountable to the people who call this community home.
