Smyrna Fire Chief Brian Marcos Named One of Georgia’s 50 Most Influential Latinos

Spotlight South cobb News is proud to congratulate Smyrna Fire Chief Brian Marcos, for being named one of the 2025 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce!

Chief Marcos has dedicated 16 years to the City of Smyrna, joining the Fire Department in 2006 and being appointed Fire Chief in August 2022. He brings exceptional leadership to both the Smyrna Fire Department and LiveSafe Resources.

He holds a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation, is Blue Card Command certified, a Georgia Certified Paramedic, and a Georgia Smoke Diver. Marcos also serves as Area 7 District Vice President for the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs and as Georgia State Director for the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs.

A published writer and sought-after speaker on fire-service leadership, Marcos is the founder of the United Leadership Program (2019), which develops future leaders in public safety. He is a graduate of Leadership Cobb (2017) and completed the Executive Leadership Program for Managers and Directors at KSU.

Among his many honors, he was named Chief Fire Officer of the Year by the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs in 2020 and recognized previously by Cobb Life Magazine and the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for his influence and leadership.

Marcos earned an associate’s degree in Fire Science and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University. His commitment to public safety and community leadership continues to inspire across Georgia.
