Halloween May Be Over, but Cupid Has Plenty of Tricks — aka Taxes

Community Should Plan to Attend Tonight’s Meeting on Tax Increases

Cobb County residents concerned about the controversial stormwater fee—widely criticized as a “rain tax”—should plan to attend tonight’s commission meeting, where a vote is expected on the unpopular proposal. The move has reignited frustration among homeowners still wary after last year’s failed attempt to push through a similar measure.

Also up for consideration is another tax increase involving higher streetlight fees, which appeared on the consent agenda without prior notice to many commissioners or the public.

Halloween may be over, but Cobb County—under Chairwoman Lisa Cupid—continues to deliver unwelcome surprises in the form of new and burdensome taxes.

The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Cobb County Government Building and the public should attend.
