City of Smyrna Hosts Annual Document Shredding Event

Smyrna, GA – Reducing waste not only conserves valuable resources but also protects our environment by cutting down on pollution and saving landfill space. That’s why Keep Smyrna Beautiful hosts two annual document shredding events, providing a convenient and secure way for everyone to safely recycle sensitive documents.
These events are open to all—whether you live in Smyrna or nearby communities. You are invited to do your part to reduce waste and protect the environment.

Volunteer for Document Shredding

Additional Information
- The event is no charge but donations are collected on-site or in advance.
- Paper only
- Participants can bring up to 5 copy paper sized boxes
- Binders, clips, and folders must be removed prior
- Attendees are asked to stay in their vehicles for safety and efficiency.
- The event closes promptly at 12:00 pm, vehicles must be in line by 12:00 pm to participate.
- The shredding process: Volunteers collect documents from each vehicle and put them to large receptacles. When full, the contents of the receptacle are dumped into a shredding truck onsite. While all shredding is done onsite, you will not necessarily be able to see your specific documents being shredded, as they will be mixed in with the documents of other people.
Traffic Noise
To avoid blocking the road, this year, there will be no left turns on to Aline Wolfe Dr. for Document Shredding. Please approach Church St. from South Cobb Dr. to enter the line for the shredding event.
