Yamaha to Relocate U.S. Headquarters to Cobb County, Bringing Jobs and Economic Growth

Atlanta, GA Yamaha Motor Co. announced this week that it will relocate its U.S. headquarters from Cypress, California, to Kennesaw, with the transition beginning this year and continuing through 2028. The move that is expected to boost jobs and economic activity in the metro Atlanta area.

For 50 years, Yamaha’s U.S. corporate offices were based in Cypress. The company first moved its marine business to Kennesaw in 1999, followed by its motorsports operations in 2019 to a facility off Chastain Road in Cobb County. The relocation of the corporate headquarters will consolidate the company’s U.S. operations in Georgia, bringing all major business units under one roof.

In a news release, Yamaha stated, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is undertaking structural reforms aimed at improving the profitability of its U.S. operations in response to cost increases resulting from U.S. tariffs and changes in the market environment.”

The company’s global headquarters remains in Iwata, Shizuoka, Japan. The move is part of a broader effort to streamline U.S. operations and enhance efficiency.

Local officials in Cobb County welcomed the announcement, noting that the relocation could bring economic growth, job opportunities, and increased corporate investment to the metro Atlanta region.
