AUSTELL, Ga. – A U.S. Postal Service employee has been arrested and charged after investigators say she stole AT&T rewards cards from the mail and used them at multiple businesses across the metro area.
According to the Austell Police Department, Adrienne Braziel, 31, of Villa Rica, is charged with two counts of financial transaction card fraud. Braziel was assigned as a city carrier to postal routes serving Austell and worked out of the South Atlanta Sorting and Delivery Center located at 1800 James Jackson Parkway NW in Atlanta.
Police say the thefts occurred between September 10, 2025, and December 14, 2025. Customers began reporting missing AT&T rewards cards that appeared as “delivered” in USPS mail dashboards but were never received.
An investigation conducted jointly by the Austell Police Department and the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS-OIG) determined that Braziel was assigned to the routes where the affected customers lived. Investigators say she was captured on surveillance footage at multiple locations using the stolen rewards cards. According to arrest warrants, Braziel allegedly used the Visa rewards cards at several businesses, including Topgolf ($170) and Dollar Tree, RaceTrac, and Chili’s Liquor and Wine, with purchases totaling approximately $500.
“This employee is alleged to have unlawfully taken mail while on duty,” Austell Police said in a statement, adding that video evidence confirmed the fraudulent use of the cards. Braziel has since been arrested and faces criminal charges related to the alleged thefts.
Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of mail theft is encouraged to contact the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General Complaint Line at 1-888-877-7644.
The investigation remains ongoing.
