WorkSource Cobb offering free, paid training

Cobb County residents interested in gaming, computer science, telecommunications, and electronics can now apply for a free program with WorkSource Cobb.

Qualified applicants can apply for the PowerUp! Apprenticeship program, a 12-week program, starting on Jan. 26, provides training in the high-demand industry of advanced manufacturing, with an emphasis on robotics and automation.

Also included are industry-recognized forklift certifications and interviews with local manufacturing companies. Cobb residents participating in the program can earn a weekly payment.

No experience is needed to enter the program which offers Cobb participants a weekly payment, along with supportive services including transportation, childcare, rental assistance, and more.

Classes will be held every Wednesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chattahoochee Technical College – Austell Campus, 1578 Veterans Memorial Highway, S.W. To apply, contact 770-528-4866, 770-528-4300, information@cobbworks.org or GJoseph@cobbworks.org.
