The City of Powder Springs named Lane Cadwell, a 20 year-plus veteran of the Powder Springs Police Department, as their new chief of Police.
Cadwell has been serving as Chief in an interim role following the retirement of former Chief Tony Bailey. In a 5-0 vote by the Powder Springs City Council, Cadwell was approved to assume the top position.
According to the spokesperson for Powder Springs, Cadwell joined the department in 1999 as a part-time dispatcher and completed his police academy training in 2001.
He started as a part-time officer before joining the force in 2005 full-time. Prior to being tapped as the interim chief, Cadwell was the department’s operations major.
