Police investigating potential threat at Marietta Middle School

On Tuesday, October 30, 2023,  Marietta Middle School Principal Diona Brown informed parents about a potential threat discovered in the school. A student reported graffiti on a bathroom wall referencing a shooting, with two dates mentioned: October 31 and November 7.

The Marietta Police Department and school administration promptly investigated, including reviewing security footage and conducting student interviews.

To ensure student safety, Principal Brown said additional adult supervision, including police and central office staff, will be present at the school. She also encouraged parents to talk to their children about reporting any concerns and emphasized the importance of a united community effort to keep schools safe.
