NBA legend becomes honorary Cobb Deputy

NBA legend Dominique Wilkins was sworn in as a reserve deputy last week by Cobb Sheriff Craig Owens during a ceremony at the Cobb County Public Safety Training Center. In his role, Wilkins will be serving as a community liaison and partner, working with the community engagement team on youth programming and initiatives. The role does not give Wilkins arrest powers, so he will not be serving warrants. “I think he’s going to be great for Cobb County,” Owens said, introducing the nine-time NBA all-star’ celebrity. On hand to witness the event was Commissioner Jerica Richardson.
