Cobb Magistrate Judge Quinn Kasper has been recognized by the Georgia Council of Magistrate Judges as the state’s Magistrate of the Year.
At the presentation of the award, Cobb Chief Magistrate Judge Brendan Murphy said, “Judge Kasper represents the best on the bench. As council president, she has tirelessly worked for magistrates across the state and the people we serve to ensure access to justice even during the pandemic.”
In accepting the honor, Kasper said, “It’s humbling to be recognized by your peers for doing what you love. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to shine a light on Magistrate Court and provide our communities with greater access to the legal system.”
While serving as a part-time judge, Kasper runs a private law and mediation practice. The Smyrna resident was first appointed to the bench in 2017. Chief Magistrate Brendan Murphy often calls Magistrate Court “the people’s court” because it handles everything from evictions and warrants to marriages and arraignments.
