Fight with a Marietta man leads to a woman’s paralysis

A Marietta man, Willie Wallace, is accused of inflicting severe harm on a woman during an altercation. According to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department, Wallace allegedly placed the victim in a full nelson-type wrestling hold, bending her forward and causing paralysis from a spinal cord injury.
This incident occurred on January 3 between 6 and 6:40 p.m. at an apartment located at 1621 Bridge Mill Drive in Marietta, within The Preserve at Terrell Mill Apartments complex.
In addition to the physical assault, Wallace is accused of obstructing the victim’s attempt to call for help by slapping her cell phone out of her hand as she dialed 911.
The charges brought against Wallace include aggravated battery disfigure, aggravated assault strangulation, and 911 obstruction.
Wallace was taken into custody on February 17 at 4:30 p.m. and is currently held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
