Cobb teacher accused of sexual assault

Share

Zachary Warren White, a teacher at Osborne High School, has been arrested and accused of having sex with a student in his office at the high school.

According to a police arrest warrant, White, 29, was arrested Thursday and charged with two felony counts of sexual assault by a teacher. The arrest warrant says White “had intercourse with the student in his school office” between Oct. 4 and Oct. 25. According to the school’s website, White is a graphic arts teacher at Osborne.

In a letter posted on the school’s website, Osborne Principal, Joshua Morreale, said that the school learned of allegations of misconduct involving a current Osborne teacher and a current student. Morreale said, “Cobb County police officers have investigated, visited campus, and arrested the teacher. We are cooperating fully with the Cobb County police, are conducting a thorough internal investigation, and have no reason to believe these allegations threaten any other Osborne students.”

Morreale went on to say, “Effective immediately, the teacher will not be allowed on campus as the investigation continues.”

White joins another Cobb teacher who was arrested this week for alleged inappropriate actions with students. Matt Anderson, a teacher at The Walker School, was arrested and charged with furnishing obscene materials and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both misdemeanors.

As of Friday, booking records showed that White was being held without bond at the Cobb jail.
