Cobb District Attorney Flynn Broady has added a new staffer to his office who goes by the name Rosie. She is a three-year-old black Labrador that will be used as a “comfort dog” for victims and bring support to the staff.
Rosie was donated to the District Attorney’s office by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. This was done in partnership with the Pups with a Purpose program.
“Child victims will have the opportunity to have Rosie there to calm them down and assure them that they are in a safe place so they can tell their story and not feel afraid of what happens if they tell it,” Broady said.
The Cobb District Attorney office is joining other District Attorney offices around the country who are turning to support animals to aid victims and witnesses of crime in reducing their stress and anxiety as they work through the criminal justice system.
