LSU basketball standout Angel Reese has officially declared for the WNBA draft, following the conclusion of the Tigers’ season with a loss to Iowa in the Elite Eight round of the women’s NCAA Tournament. Although Reese had previously left the option of returning to LSU open, she revealed that she had already decided to turn professional before March Madness began.

Reese, who has shown interest in the fashion and modeling industry, announced her decision through a photo shoot featured in Vogue magazine. Inspired by Serena Williams’ retirement announcement in 2022, Reese chose to make a splash with her declaration.

Although Reese had previously left the option of returning to LSU open, she revealed that she had already decided to turn professional before March Madness began. In her statement to Vogue, Reese emphasized her desire to make a bold statement, stating, “Of course, I like to do everything big. I didn’t want anything to be basic.”

Standing at 6-foot-3, Reese is known for her versatility on the court, being able to run the floor, guard the perimeter, and block shots effectively. She is expected to be among the top players drafted on April 15, alongside players like Caitlin Clark, who is anticipated to be the No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever.
